Better Than Blessed!

It’s crazy what the media can do to a girl’s self esteem..self image. I found myself scrolling down my dashboard on tumblr wishing I had hair like her or had a body like that girl. Knowing full and well that I’m physically blessed but I submerged myself into what I guess is better than blessed..on the la la land of the Internet. I could always pick out things that I wish I could change to make myself look better…than blessed. Only if my skin was a little clearer, my butt a little bigger, my hips a little wider, my breast a little fuller..maybe then I’d look better…than blessed. But now I wanna rephrase my first sentence..it’s crazy how much we ALLOW the media to affect our self esteem and image. Because recently I’ve discovered something even more crazy..how much GOD can have an effect on how you view yourself. As I find myself growing closer to God, instead of sulking in how beautiful the next girl may be..I focus on capturing my own beauty in pictures and picking out things that I love about myself. And I have learned to appreciate the gorgeous creature God made me to be. See, I’ve come to realize that my thighs are just fine and my eyes…although they may be a little tight..are just right for me and who I’m supposed to be because God opened them up and blind to the rest so that I know that’s it’s me that’s better than blessed!
